Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) -
SAFE Birmingham
Funded by SAFE Birmingham via the Department of Health & Social Care (2023-2025 and later extended from 2025-2026).

SAFE is a DfE funded schools-led response to serious youth violence, focused on providing earlier intervention in mainstream Primary and Secondary Schools.

Supatrax formed a consortium entitled TIES - Tailored Innovative Engagement Specialists (with Birmingham Youth Services and B.U.R.N) to deliver to a number of schools across Birmingham. Supatrax's core work was in King Edward VI Balaam Wood Academy.
Early Intervention Programme -
k'NO'w Yourself
Delivering early intervention workshops, mentoring and family support via Birmingham City Council funding till March 2026.

The 'k'NO'w Yourself' Programme has been developed to:
  • Provide early intervention to prevent escalation of risky behaviours
  • Offer support to both students and their families
  • Signpost young people to relevant external services
  • Build resilience and awareness around peer pressure, substance misuse, and grooming risks
  • Advocate on behalf of young people when required
Partnership Working with Aquarius - Young People's Services
Working creatively to deliver 'Harmful Influences Awareness' Programmes and workshops whilst signposting individuals wanting any further support to Aquaris. This is done via:

1-to-1 Mentoring: Personal, confidential sessions to support emotional wellbeing, behavioural change, and personal development.

Group Mentoring: Small group settings (around 10 students), designed to build peer support, boost confidence, and explore shared challenges.

Harmful Influences covers a range of things from peer circles to substance misuse. We explore all things that can have neagtive effects on young people and give them the support and coping mechanisims to overcome any concerns they highlight.

DATRIG Proof Of Concept Project

Supatrax, in partnership with Birmingham City Council Public Health, is leading proof-of-concept research and workshops, subcontracting Journal 2 Dreams, EDUKFUN, and LRG Youth Project. Tackling youth vaping, substance use, and public health education, the findings will shape and tailor future engagement across Birmingham.

Youth Vaping Research
EDUKFUN will deliver proof-of-concept research exploring vaping behaviours, attitudes, and accessibility among young people in Birmingham. The study gathers insights to inform prevention strategies, early intervention, and targeted health messaging, supporting schools, community stakeholders, and public health initiatives to reduce youth vaping and promote safer environments.
Substance Use Among Black British Adults
Journal 2 Dreams will investigate substance use among Black British adults in Birmingham using a mixed-methods approach. Findings will inform culturally competent services, support the Triple Zero Strategy, and guide public health policy to reduce health inequalities, prevent overdoses, and improve recovery outcomes.
Public Health Workshops
LRG Youth Project (part of Birmingham Youth Service) will deliver interactive workshops for 12–16-year-olds across Birmingham, focusing on substance misuse prevention, health education, and life skills. Workshops provide accessible, tailored resources, fostering informed decision-making, promoting health equity, and supporting early intervention in schools and youth services.
